On May 19th, the Ninetendo who is known for excellent software released a new product called Wii Active.

If you’ve been around the video game world for awhile you know about another software package called the Wii Fit.  Wii Active is a  similar workout software package but has a lower price and more interesting exercise applications.

Unless you’ve been away from exercising  for awhile computer video workouts  is fast becoming the next trend in exercising.

Why?   Well if you’re a busy mother this is a no brainer.  There is not many women that can tell the kids, ” I’ll see you guys in a couple of hours, just wait here while I go to the gym.”  No that’s not going to happen.

But now you can easily turn on the TV and exercise AND keep and eye on the kids.  But this is much more interesting than watching a video, the exercise equipment add ons make it an exciting interactive experience.

And almost everyone is getting one now.  Anytime Oprah talks about it on her show with a demonstration, it’s on the verge of becoming the next rage.

Wii Active Life outdoor challenge is just down right fun to use.  Anytime you’re having fun while working out you’re going to lose weight and get into shape.  You’re going to stick with it.  Isn’t that what it is all about?

Only two controls are usually needed for Wii Active Life, the  Remote Control and the Nunchuk.  The nunchuk is used by all of the program and needs to stay plugged in to the Remote Control the whole time.

The balance board that supposedly works with the Fit also,  is seldom needed and then only for a few of the exercises.  However, you can skip those EA Sports Active exercises if you like.   The balance board is usually not needed.

These two controls are versatile.  They are used in different ways for different exercises.  Usually, the Wii remote control goes in your right hand and the nunchuk goes either in your left hand or in the left leg strap (depending on exercise).

If need be, there is a video demonstrating all this, but this guide is all you really need to get
going!

These controls respond very precisely to any movements you make.  The secret is to always try to follow the trainer and imitate his movements. If you can not follow the trainer, you should get and watch the video prior to using the Wii Active Life.

The video will tell you all there is to know and, more importantly, give you tips on moving correctly.  After starting, mimic the on screen trainer and carefully follow the on screen written instructions.  When it’s time to use the nunchuk, put it in the leg strap pointing down and the control stick facing to the right.
